Summarised of observation findings:

  • An estimated 10% of time is spent on housekeeping tasks, such as dishwashing after mealtimes and general area cleaning​

Outsourcing housekeeping tasks such as general cleaning and dishwashing can free up time for Care staff to pursue other tasks.

The desired benefits include:

Nursing Home (SLEC, Ren Ci, NTUC Health)​

  • Only 14% of housekeeping tasks to be completed by Care staff, including cleaning of nursing tools and tidying seniors’ bed
  • Projected 7.7% reduction in proportion of shift dedicated to housekeeping tasks

Senior Care Centre

  • Projected 8% reduction in proportion of shift dedicated to housekeeping tasks
